This is a hidden gem. Not many people know this national park. Not many people you will encounter in this national park. Less crowded than Yosemite. But the view is quite gorgeous. We went there in 2006 at July 4th weekend.
These pictures were taken in almost 3 years ago. We spent our labor day weekend in Yosemite. The view was fantastic. I had a very relaxing and fun vacation. Just my big toe did not quite agree with me. He got injured when I hiked on upper Yosemite falls trail.
What does Kaua'i look like? I cannot tell you exactly. It depends on where I look at Kaua'i. When I am on the beach, Kaua'i gives me its peaceful and typical ocean island looking. When I am in Waimea, Kaua'i gives me its majestic canyon looking. When I am in Na Pali, Kaua'i gives me its genuine cliff-ocean looking. When I am on the way to Kipu falls, Kaua'i gives me its Jurassic Park looking. When I am kayaking, Kaua'i gives me its jungle looking. When I am in Kapa'a, Kaua'i gives me its friendly little town looking. Kaua'i is the 4th largest island among Hawaii islands. Kaua'i is also called the Garden Island. Why? When you step on Kaua'i, you will realize why it has this name in less than 1 hour. If you like adventures, if you like hiking, if you like nature, if you like challenging yourself, if you don't like artificial views, if you like immerse yourself into water, then Kaua'i is a top choice.
I'd say, get a DS and play it when you fly. It is fun and practical. You will not sense how time is passing when you focus yourself intensively on your little Mario.
This is where we stayed. Looks good, right? We stayed at ResortQuest islander on the beach in Kapa'a. The hotel is totally beyond our expectation. Good service and great location. A very pleasant stay.
Away from California for a while, I am back. I am organizing my incredible Kaua'i pictures. These three capture three different faces of Kaua'i. Enjoy.
