"Your brain age is 56."
This is from Brain Age 2, a game designed for Nintendo DS. This game did not seem that fun the first time I saw it. We have it because it came within Nintendo DS package. However, I was wrong. It is superb fun.
We played it once we were home. Its design is neat. The first part of brain age check can be done in two ways: You can speak or You can't speak. We tried You-can-speak version. That was a good decision. It is kind like the paper, scissors, and rock game. The question pops up on either left or right screen of DS, you then answer by speaking to the DS speaker. For instance, you see "You need to win" and a "Paper" on the left screen. To provide a correct answer, you need to say "Scissors" to the speaker. It is tricky. Because if you do not pronounce "s", DS will not recognize your answer. DS will not treat your answer as a correct one either if you pronounce scissors as scizzors.
The second part is a visual challenge. You see many figures at the same time and you have to click on the largest number. Usually, the largest figure is printed in a smaller font. Therefore, your instinct may not want you to pick this number first. If you hesitate too long, then DS will think your brain is not agile.
The third part is a memory challenge. You see 10 numbers and 10 letters associated with them. DS gives you a number and you need to provide the letter associated with that number. If you think too long, then DS will think your brain needs more challenges and then classify you as an elder.
The results on first try:
Totof's brain age is 56
My brain age is 47
We are not that old...
